Hilarious Muppets Bloopers!
This probably has to be the best rickroll I’ve seen. Not counting the Steve Jobs interview on Mahalo though.

This probably has to be the best rickroll I’ve seen. Not counting the Steve Jobs interview on Mahalo though.
I know this isn’t tech related. I know missed the news that iTunes is now the king of music and so on. But I can’t pass this up.
A Venezuelan TV station has removed the popular cartoon series “The Simpsons” because of complaints from TV viewers and deemed unsuitable for children. It has now been replaced by Baywatch Hawaii.
Ah yes. Cartoons. But seriously, Baywatch?!?!
It is also noted that this station also airs a talk show by President Hugo Chavez.
It hits me around June and July. I consider these months to be my depression months when I think too much about everything. And since I’ve decided to separate my personal thoughts and my opinion on technology and games to my 1up page this place is now devoted to all my rants about everything not related to tech and games and anime and probably movies as well. As for my dot mac site, I still haven’t thought of what to do with that.
Anyway let’s get straight to the point.
How long should you keep people on your friends list? I mean, do you really keep in touch with these people on your friends list? Let’s say you do and they don’t reciprocate? What then? What then do you do?
I usually just let the number rot on my phone until the day that my phone tells me that my directory is full and if I want to delete the number that’s the number I press the erase button on.
But then there are times that number actually calls back.
Lately I’ve been sooo lazy in my directory that when the office calls I just answer the thing to save me the effort of deleting the number eventually.
To keep or not to keep?
site where people can post pictures of people parking like assholes. Check out the asshole SUV taking up 3 spots!
I love this site!!! it has happened to you before. The one and only empty parking space has been hogged by someone who cannot park right. This is long overdue. I’m printing out those forms and start tagging all those cars whose owners can’t seem to park or even have the decency to park right. Parking is a privilege.
Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher will retire from Formula One at the end of the season.
The end of an era. No matter what anyone says about him, he has still made his mark in Formula 1 and in autoracing history. No other driver has ever been as sucessful as him. There are a few who made their mark in their sport. There’s Michael Jordan, Pete Sampras, Tiger Woods, Richard Petty, Mario Andretti and one Michael Schumacher. It’s quite sad when a sporting great retires but they have to someday.
Another driver will come along and win championships and win races but they will always be measured by those who have come before him (or her).
I can still remember the day when Ferrari finally won the Driver’s and Constructor’s championship in 2000 in Suzuka, Japan. The races when Michael came back to win the race from dead last. His signature leap on the podium when he wins a race and the joy of the faces of the “tifosi” when he wins in Italy. The emotional moments when he chose to race and won even when his mother just passed away. The time when he passed Aryton Senna for the most wins, a press conference where he spent most of the time crying and Mika not wanting to talk to the press. And of course, the day when he announced his retirement.
Just as he did today.
Next year will be a new chapter for Formula 1. Kimi will be in red. Alonso will be in the silver car. A new season of possibilities. But for now, we have to savor the moment while he’s still in the car. Beacuse it will be a very long wait for someone with his talent to come along once again.
Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand will soon enjoy low prices on electronics.
It’s about time. For years they have put taxes on imported electronics, basically everything. So the prices that US consumers enjoy are not necessarily passed on to other countries. The Philippine government puts as much as 25% tax on computers on top of the local tax. Take Intel processors for example. These chips are made in Malaysia or in the Philippines, it is prohibited to sell these chips locally. So what happens is that these chips leave the country and come back and sold at a higher price.
I applaud the ASEAN for doing the right things. They’ve already lost a lot of ground to China and India in terms of IT development and sales. I hope this boosts the industry and I’ll expect a cheaper iPod in the near future. Like really near.
I have created a new domain for this blog. Yippee! It’s now accessible at http://procrastinatingintheheat.com instead of typing my whole name to it. An easier way I hope in getting this blog out there. I think it would be easier to link it to the name of the blog rather than the person.
The site will remain hosted at blogspot. I just wanted to get the name of the blog across. Just as long as someone can spell “procrastinate”.
A Yahoo intern’s excited post about his workplace just proves that Google’s even cooler.
I wish my office had mango lassis. I could not possibly get any better. Heck if I worked at Google I probably wouldn’t go home. It’s a cool place to work. It’s already bad enough that you have to dodge through the traffic and the chaos just to get to work. On top of that the facist laws that usually govern the workplace, partnered with indifferent bosses who think that your problems are not problems because it does not affect them directly. Hmmmm.
I must admit that I do get some office perks which I will not mention because they are lame in comparison to what Google has done for it’s employees. Corporations should take note of this. Google has high productivity and people want to work there and stay there. Why? They feel that their job is important. They feel that they can make a significant contribution to society. In one sentence, they feel special. They make it possible for you to work. You can’t give any excuse not to work. They solve it all for you.
A company that takes are of it’s own will be cared for by it’s employees more than what they’ve spent on them.
I just came from iBlog2, a conference of Philippine bloggers. The keynote speaker, Rebecca Mckinnon, formerly of CNN, now with Harvard raised some very interesting points about the whole blogging revolution happening online.
It is no secret that blogging has liberated the flow of information on the web. However there are no laws to protect the content that is posted on the web or any intellectual property or copyright laws that would protect anything created. Blogs can then be harassed, ideas be plagiarized and allow for internet piracy go on.
Blogs are not the only thing affected by the lack of proper laws protecting the internet. Porn, illegal file sharing and malicious attacks go on in the country. Even if they are only caught by authorities, since there is no law against this they are let go only with a few days of jail term and a small fine despite how grave the damage done on businesses and internet.
Our lawmakers apparently have more time getting rid of the president than passing laws that benefit us. One lawmaker stated why there is no intellectual copywright law saying “walang pera diyan” translated in English, “there’s no money in it”.
We are definitely a democratic country, majority of Filipinos do no have access to the internet, yet it is this very infrastructure that affects their daily lives. Its just that they don’t care.
Get off your fat asses and pass a bill that will protect us and our ideas.
Why can’t anyone provide decent internet service in the Philippines.
Ever since I got broadband, I could never bring myself to go back to dial up. I mean let’s face it. Can you go back to internet speeds less than 56k? I don’t think so. So I’ve been on broadband since 2000 when I got cable internet. Just last year I went to DSL when I found out that my cable internet company was bought out by a company that I didn’t like their service. (I also quit my cable TV company when that happened. I had no choice but to switch to DSL which was giving more bandwidth for the same prices I was paying for cable internet. The hard part was parting from my former cable internet provider.
I called them up saying I wanted to end my subscription. They told me to fax or email a letter stating that. So I went to their website and filled out the email reply box and sent a fax. But that wasn’t the end of it. They still kept charging me for 4 months after that. Bills which I ignored. Then they send me a disconnection notice. Disconnection notice for not paying my bills! I told them to disconnect my line months ago and they still charged me!! All the more reason to get out of that lousy service.
While that was all happening, I switched to DSL which was faster and the installation was quick and painless. However, the frustration was soon coming.
Every now and then, particularly during the weekends, I would lose my dial tone. And my internet connection.
Like this is insane!! Plus the support is somewhat of a paradox. You can only reach their emergency hotline using a phone in their service. BUT HOW CAN I CALL THE HOTLINE TO REPORT MY DEAD PHONE WHEN MY PHONE IS DEAD TO BEGIN WITH!! Can some one please explain this logic to me? Can someone please provide Filipinos with true broadband service with great customer support!
