I’ve unlocked all of the Yoga poses and all of the strength exercises. I haven’t started on the challenges yet until I get “fitter”.

Wish me luck!

One more day then do the fitness test on Saturday. I’m having doubts if I lost weight. Just to let everyone know, I’ve been cutting down on the stuff I’m eating.

Should I then train twice a day? Morning and the evening? But wouldn’t that put too much strain on the body? Oh well, we’ll know this weekend.

Wii Fit Day 5

I’m beginning to wonder if I will really lose weight using this. The objective that I’ve set on the Wii Fit was 20 lbs. by the end of the year. Which basically meant 1.3 lbs per week. Is it possible?

I’ve reduced my food intake and pegged my daily diet to 1200 calories. The exercises are getting longer as I unlock more. Today I spent 52 minutes on Yoga and Strength training alone.

We’ll know if there’s any progress when I do the test again on Saturday.

I thought UMPCs were supposed to be "affordable"

It’s interesting where a little heart can go.

Originally the OLPC (one laptop per child) wanted give poor countries access to computers to bring them up to speed with the rest. Of course it’s a bright idea so other PC manufacturers went off and made their own.

It’s been almost a year since the Asus eeeeeepc came out are they any cheaper?

The 701 came out and was pretty much a hit. Even I was tempted. But with the impending release of the 1000 and the 901 the rumored street price in about $500-700. Is still still the cheap laptop that everyone would buy?

Sure it’s a lot cheaper than the mac book air but the prices are about to reach the selling rate of regular laptops. So is it still worth it to buy these UMPCs?

Dell, HP, Asus, MSI and so on are building their own version all at relatively the same price range. The Asus 901 eepc alone has specs to drool for. It’s an ideal mobile computer in my opinion. Do you think I can install a “hackintosh” in it?

I’m not really a windows fan nor a linux. I may go for windows just to use some of my apps that I use that are exclusively on windows. Would it be enough for a road warrior like myself? Can it take my raw pictures from my digital camera and upload to my flickr and blog and twitter and travel around the world? Can I live that long without touching my mac? Or can my phone do it all?

If prices of these UMPCs drop to the $300 range with XP in it. I’m sold! I’m buying one. But the $500? Forget it. I can get a pretty good Lenovo for that kind of money.

Wii Fit Day 4

I’ve been trying to stay with a diet of 1200 calories per day and it seems to be working. Today I spent 45 minutes on Wii Fit doing all of the yoga and strength exercises I’ve unlocked.

Some the exercises are getting harder and others, particularly on my left leg is quite challenging. Well it’s been only four days. I’m giving it time.

I don’t know if it’s just endorphins, adrenaline, blood circulation or the placebic effect of the wii fit that makes me think I’m performing better at work.

Whatever it is, it’s working.

Who didn’t grow up on little golden books

I had a childhood of hand me downs and one of those passed on to me were my brother and sister’s massive collection of little golden books. Most of the Disney movies were on it and most of it I wasn’t able to watch back then but I had these books to tell me the story.

I knew who Pongo and Perdita were even before I saw the original 101 Dalmatians and Cinderella even before I saw the movie. Who could not forget the branding the books had. They had that golden foil for the spine and the hard carton covers that could withstand any toddlers tantrum.

Ah yes and just recently I saw at the bookstore this:

Take my advice. Don’t read it if you haven’t seen the movie. That alone says a lot. Don’t be tempted by the $2.99 price tag. The art is pretty good though.

Wii Fit Day 3

I rushed home to be able to get on the Wii and spent :31 in game time to work out.

Today I went for the longer exercises which meant more reps. I need more training on keeping my weight distribution even when standing on one foot. Note: I’m doing these exercises barefoot. I might get better performance with shoes on. But think that would be cheating.

I had a very long day at work where I just went on a meal of granola bars to get me through. I didn’t have time to eat. I know that’s a bad thing.

Finally had a decent meal at dinner with shrimps and rice with a glass of water.

On to the next day!

What a deal!

Just as I was about to give up on buying this. I had to make the mistake of going to Amazon.com. Damn you Jeff Bezos for making things easy for me to shop for almost anything. I got my camera and tens of books and videogames over the years and haven’t had a bad experience so far. Just when I was about to give up and get mad at customer service, the service was just right there when I needed it and I got it.

I expect my boxed set to arrive promptly on my doorstep two days after you ship it.

Thank God for the internet!
