Every single KK Slider song at once

I have seen the face of hell and it is a white dog with a guitar.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Animal Crossing, the popular Nintendo only game. It’s kinda like Sims but with Animals. There is a character called KK Slider who comes into town every Saturday night and plays songs. Here is a video of all the songs he sings in the game.

And I do mean all of the songs at the same time.

Be warned.

AAA games, Are they worth it on the first buy?

Last year was a host of AAA games for the Xbox 360. Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Rock Band and all of them I trekked down my local game store and bought them the day it was released. Thus emptying my wallet of at least $60 per month.

But with all the bills and life that I have to go through sometimes buying these games at full price is not an option. Unless of course, I’m a huge fan. Exceptions that I have made are titles with the word “Final” and “Fantasy” in the title as well as “Gran”, “Turismo” and any combination of the word “Metal Gear Solid”. Grand Theft Auto 4 is to be released in the next few weeks, where even my brother has pre-ordered the game. Is spending all this money worth it on these games?

I only got into gaming in Christmas of 1999 where I bought the PS One with my cold hard earned cash. Pretty late compared to a lot of gamers. I do however own an Atari 2600 and various classic handhelds currently in my basement. But I never owned an NES, Super NES or a Sega Genesis. I did get a Sega Game Gear in 1993 but I mostly used it as a TV instead of a gaming device.

I had been burned a few times in the past like with “Okami”, “Shadow of the Colossus”, “God of War 1” and a few other titles that I paid full price only to see it drop to $19.99 in 3 months. That really pissed me off. I benefited from Nintendo’s slash of prices on the Gamecube in 2003 where they dropped the console to the sweet spot of $99 and all the games that I wanted were in the $19.99 range which was perfect for me.

But in today’s next gen gaming, where everyone is trying to recoup losses in making the console, deals are hard to find. Even the slashed down price of $29.99 is still pretty high. So where does this lead? Cheap ass gaming.

I scour the forums for deals. Swap my old games with a little cash to get newer ones and save my money for that “must have” game. The last deal I got, a once played Devil May Cry for the 360. I haven’t played it yet, but at least it wasn’t full price.

Absolute Virtue

This is the only creature/ notorious monster that remains undefeated in FFXI. So to give players hint, Square-Enix released this five minute video on how they defeated Absolute Virtue.

Clever guys. At the most critical point, they zoom into the chat screen so you don’t really see what’s going on.

It took them roughly a few hours to defeat as far as I know. I’ll check if I can get my linkshell to do this uicide run for kicks.

David Hayter’s MGS 20th Year Tribute

Just a little something to tide Metal Gear fans until June.

Best PS3 commercial I’ve seen so far

The nice thing about this PS3 ad is that it’s not all about explosions and graphics. But instead it focuses on the personal experience and at times the shared experience of owning the console. Much like the HP ads a few years back. At least it’s not as campy as “Wii would like to play.”

Leave reality behind

The Formula 1 season just started last weekend and what better way to celebrate than to oogle at these pictures from Kotaku. Yes, I did say Kotaku. Now why would a gaming site host pictures like this one above.

Because that image above is the in-game engine of GRAN TURISMO!!

Yes race fans! What you’ve always dreamed about is in the ultimate driving simulator. In the past we’ve complained about the physics and the handling of the Formula 1 cars in games published by then 989 Sports and even EA Sports. I’ve wished that it would have the handling of Gran Turismo.

Well wait no more. For a mere 2 Million in game credits, you can drive Kimi Raikonnen’s championship car in the game.

Now that is something to wait and play for.

Persona 3 FES coming to North America in April

Official Persona 3 FES Website

Atlus, in a surprise announcement says it will bring Persona 3 FES which was Japan only title will now be heading across the Pacific.

This is great news! Early adopters need not worry, you can transfer over your save game from the original game and import it into FES to take advantage of the new features and additional storyline. Wow and to think I’m almost done with it. It’s exciting to see Atlus bring over the extended special editions of their game to countries other than Japan. (Hint hint Square-Enix, cough cough Final Fantasy 12 Zodiac Job system, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix) I hope this will start a trend of these games finally seeing the light of day in the west.

Now all you fanboys can spend more time with Mitsuru-senpai. The fun arrives in April 22 of this year.

He’s got loads of time

In a recent news article in Gamestop, the GH3 World Record has been beaten.

I too am a fan of the series. In fact I have all of them on the PS2 and I’ve gone as far as playing every GH setup in Best Buy, Gamestop and Fry’s that I come across. I’ve also seriously practiced my Rock Band skills as well and have beaten my friends online.

But to go as far as to hold the World Record for GH3, that is serious commitment.

Stay tuned next week as this record is “officially” beaten in You Tube.

Will they sell it here?

BBC NEWS | Asia-Pacific | S Korea to send ‘kimchi’ to space

When South Korea’s first astronaut flies off in April, he will have the comfort of eating his national dish of kimchi. It’s basically spicy pickled cabbage. But since it’s pickled, it’s teeming with bacteria which is a no no for space flights.

All space missions are in a germ free environment so they wont bring any organic items such as germs that might mutate and turn into something horrifying when they fly back to Earth.

So back to the kimchi. Apparently Korean scientists have found a way to make kimchi without bacteria. Hmm I wonder what that tastes like? Will they sell it here vacuum packed?
