I’ll wait for the PS3 version

Ever since Square-Enix announced a few months ago that a number of titles were heading to the 360, a lot of RPG fans felt betrayed (this seems to be the word of the day). So games like Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant, Star Ocean and Final Fantasy XIII will see the light of day on the 360 giving a much needed RPG boost to the American console.

But so far, it hasn’t been good to Square-Enix. Infinite Undiscovery just went from $59.99 to $19.99 in a matter of three months. Not a good sign if you are selling games. And now comes “The Last Remnant”.

Initial release for the 360 and eventually on the PS3 and the reviews aren’t exactly good.

The Last Remnant Review: Strategically Sound, Technically Flawed

In short, too many bad things to make this RPG even good. We’ll have to see what happens when Star Ocean comes out next year and FFXIII when it comes out. FFXIII has the distinction of being released first on the PS3 before being ported to the 360.

This is one game that I will wait on the PS3 and hope that they will fix all the technical issues plaguing the game.

Insert this between KH 1 and 2

Square Enix: Kingdom Hearts Re-Beat On PS2 This December

When I got my hands on Kingdom Hearts 2, I was a bit thrown off by the story since it assumed that a lot happened after KH 1. A gameboy advance exclusive, KH: Chain of Memories was released before KH: 2 to explain the events after KH 1. Does this make any sense?

To put it plainly, this game goes between KH 1 and 2 and is coming to the PS2 this December. Yes I did write PS2.

Now if only Sony will put back the BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY in the PS3. Then this game will sell more than what they can anticipate.

Now this isn’t right

Square Enix: Epic Hard FFXI Boss Killed In One Minute

I don’t think that this is right at all. The boss that was once called “unbeatable” until Square-Enix game masters teamed up and posted the video online that they defeated Absolute Virtue has now been toned down and conquered by a linkshell in the Pandemonium server. Of course they were well armed with Kraken clubs and all to beat the high notorious monster down.

I call this rubbish. I think that the bar should stay as high. They should give players the option to play the updated weaker version and the original version. Or at least not lose XP while doing the battle would also be great. But to beat Absolute Virtue in one minute means it’s faster to beat than Kirin or any of the other notorious monsters in the game.

That’s just not right.

Home early!

Today was a pretty good day. I’m home early! Apparently the typhoon over Hong Kong is cancelling a number of flights into China. Not that it has anything to do with me.

My hectic schedule has driven me away from my Wii Fit again. I forsee this happening for another two weeks for the duration of the Olympics.

But that doesn’t stop me from trying to read all of my RSS feeds and flagging those I want to blog about.

Gizmodo posts that Electric City Akihabara is now on Google Street Maps. Kakoii!

PS3 fans still have something to be happy about. FF Versus XIII is still a PS3 exclusive – Kotaku

I’ll see if I can post more stuffs tomorrow.

Dateline: Tokyo DKΣ3713

At the Square-Enix event in Tokyo, they seemed to announce things that would appease their loyal PS3 fans.

Final Fantasy XIII demo is heading for the PS3 in March 2009 which is bundled with the blu-ray version of FFVII Advent Children. This practically crushes any hope that it would be a surprise Holiday title.

Development of the Xbox 360 version will not begin until the PS3 version has been released.

PSP fans have everything to look forward to especially with Parasite Eve making it’s return.

My only problem with the announcements is that it makes me excited, next year. Sigh.

Absolute Virtue

This is the only creature/ notorious monster that remains undefeated in FFXI. So to give players hint, Square-Enix released this five minute video on how they defeated Absolute Virtue.

Clever guys. At the most critical point, they zoom into the chat screen so you don’t really see what’s going on.

It took them roughly a few hours to defeat as far as I know. I’ll check if I can get my linkshell to do this uicide run for kicks.
